DIY: Pochade Box

Lately, I've been inspired by (and a bit envious of) plein air artists in they way that they spend the days outside absorbing the sunshine that they capture in their paintings. After having received a cigar box from an artist friend, I decided to try my hand at building one. So excited to break this baby in, ride to the beach and make some little paintings and focus on beauty in the ever-changing light! In response to the idea of making work "for fun", I created this pochade box so that I could create an opportunity for myself take a breath outside and do so. The great blessing was that the making of the box was such a fun project within itself! Thanks, Jen, for the inspiration! (Check out her work @jendeespaintings) Yes, art is fun.
