What are the challenges and opportunities in building your career in academia? How to find the right journal for your publication? Single-authored or co-authored publication? How to network and find the right academic community? How can experienced scholars help and support their younger colleagues? What are the challenges and opportunities of collaboration with industry partners? How to initiate such collaboration? These important questions for young scholars were tackled in the ScreenMe webinar on March 8, 2022. Ivana Kostovska (imec-SMIT-Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and Vejune Zemaityte (Baltic Film, Media and Arts School of Tallinn University) shared their personal experiences, highlighting both challenges and opportunities for early stage researchers. You can now watch these excellent young scholars telling us about their research and learnings in academia. The talk is moderated by Heritiana Ranaivoson a Senior Researcher and Project Leader at imec-SMIT-Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) and Päivi Maijanen-Kyläheiko an Associate Professor at LUT University, School of Business and Management, Lappeenranta, Finland. The webinar was organised within the framework of the ScreenME-Net project. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 952156. Tallinn University leads the consortium for this project.
