Dr Emil Cherrington presented at the Geo-AI Working Group on August 6, 2025. Emil is an Earth observation data scientist with over twenty years of experience working with remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS). His work has focused on the use of such technologies for land cover change detection, ecosystem monitoring, disaster response, and integrated water resource management. This is an exciting talk where Emil will explore a few of the deep learning tools available through Esri's ArcGIS Pro platform, specifically for land cover classification and demonstrate how Esri's tools can serve as an on-ramp for those who are new to the deep learning side of geospatial artificial intelligence.
