Icy Running - January 16, 2026

An Icy 3.85 Miles on Spring Road, starting out from the Lake Auburn Community Center - 3rd Run with GoPro. "Horizon Lock" on this time to help the footage from being as tilted, even if the camera isn't mounted squarely to my perfectly plum and block shaped head. ;) I stopped to pet a dog and then later on forgot to stop Strava when I was done running so my recorded pace was a bit off; but today was not about pace anyway. It was about mastering the terrain and safely navigating the ice. The recent rain followed by temps well below freezing, has led to a lot of exposed ice, slippery dips, and frozen ruts. It is wise to avoid those things. There are some small video edits along the way where I clipped out a few seconds of trail crossings with people who may or may not have wanted to be on YouTube. There are some brief glimpses of their dogs though. I also "talk to myself" here and there like objective observations about long icy uphill segments. :) Thank you for letting me ramble on.
