For today's video, I've chosen another song by the incredibly talented Calum Scott ➡️    / @calumscottofficial   The song is part of his brand new album "Avenoir" and so I pray that he won't have this video deleted 🙏💚. I love his music, his voice and his lyrics, and I truly encourage you to visit his channel and enjoy his music. I immediately fell in love with "Die For You"; it gets under my skin and makes me think of Jamie, his love for Claire and his willingness to sacrifice everything for her, even his life if necessary. Well, it was mainly the chorus that brought Jamie to mind. I guess you'll quickly realize why. The implementation of the verses was a little more challenging, but you know that I love finding ways and means to adapt the lyrics to our favorite couple. Actually, the song is about a man who struggles to put his feelings into words, whether it's to break the silence after a fight or simply to express the depth of his emotions. Since Jamie is a man who always seems to find the right words, this seems contradictory at first glance, as does the fact that there were few moments when he actually ran the risk of losing Claire or her love. I tried to use this contradiction as a stylistic device, at least in part. I decided to use the spanking from S1E9 as the theme for the first verse. It's fair to say that Jamie's punishment broke something between them. This is where he probably learned his first lesson as a married man, especially since his wife came from a completely different era with fundamentally different ideas, and not only in terms of marriage and equality. It is amazing that Jamie was willing to rethink his views so early on and break with traditions and customs in order to fix the rift between them. Especially since he didn't know the truth about Claire at that point. Not only did he understand her point, but he also carefully considered what words and actions were necessary to earn her forgiveness, realizing that empty words alone would not suffice. Somehow, he instinctively understood that Claire was not a woman he could dominate or possess. To win her heart and soul, he had to give his own in equal measure; more than that, he had to see her as his equal in every conceivable way. What a progressive way of thinking for a man of his time, as even today this attitude is not a given. And so he managed to win her forgiveness (and all without openly declaring his love—amazing, but actions speak louder than words, don't they?). You could say that the chorus deals with all these actions. The lyrics make it sound hypothetical, but we know that each of these statements and promises is extremely real in Jamie's case, and I show that in pictures. He has already impressively proven parts of his vow, leaving no room to doubt the rest or a repetition of his deeds. It was a little easier to implement the second verse. Although he didn't want to, he had to learn the painful lesson of what life without Claire was like: incomplete, unfulfilled, lonely. His attempt to escape this loneliness left him struggling to explain himself after her return. Out of fear and cowardice, he had lied, or rather remained silent, thereby sowing fear and doubt. And so his marriage to Laoghaire once again seriously shook their love. Claire was quite capable of understanding why he tried to move on with his life, why he had remarried, but she struggled to understand why he had chosen Laoghaire. But once again, he found the right words, one of the gifts that makes us all fall in love with him and adore him, just like the fact that Claire's happiness, well-being, and safety always come first for him. His unconditional, selfless love, tender and passionate at the same time, is what enchants us and makes us melt. Yes, he would undoubtedly die for her ❤️❤️‍🔥🫠!
