A great summer project for any age, and a great way to decorate any room in the house or the garden! A great, low cost, way to make paper bunting. My bunting is 12cm at the top, and 16cm long. Approx 5 inches at top and 6.5 inches long. Everyone loves bunting, so this is a great project for children, teens, adults, and the whole family. A great party activity too! Materials needed: Cereal boxes or any recycled cardboard boxes. * Paper to decorate / make your bunting. In this video, I’ve used colouring book paper. You could also use gift wrapping paper, colored paper, felt, magazine paper, newspapers - the possibilities are endless! Scissors to cut paper. Glue stick or PVA glue, or Elmer's Glue or Mod Podge, any non-toxic glue, or a glue gun. Twine or yarn, or ribbon, to hang the bunting. Optional: Ruler or seamstress tape measure for measuring bunting (make a template!). Optional: hole punch, to add tidy holes to the top of the bunting for hanging. *Note: Using cardboard prevents thin paper from curling up when making bunting. If you are using craft card or thick decorative paper for your bunting, you won't need the cereal boxes. A few easy steps... 1. Decide what size you want your bunting. Mine is 12cm at top and 16cm long. I made 7 bunting flags to string together with yarn to fit across an indoor window. 2. Find some paper to decorate your bunting... colouring book paper is perfect. Any paper can be used. 3. Measure and make a bunting template. 4. Using your bunting template, cut out cereal / cardboard boxes. 5. Using your bunting template, cut out bunting from colouring book sheets. 6. Glue the cardboard, and place on colouring book sheets. (The cardboard keeps the paper from curling.) 7. Use the hole punch to punch 2 holes at the thop of the bunting to string up and hang. 8. Cut approx 2 metres or 3 feet of yarn to hang your bunting. 9. String the yarn through the bunting and hang. Free or low cost home decor, that can be made very easy for pennies! Great for home, garden, party or events. Remember, if it rains, your bunting will need to come indoors or it won’t survive! Only a few items needed to make this project! Save money by making your own!
