OLD Roads, New Risks! Hugging The Cliffs Through the FRASER CANYON

Welcome! The boys and I are finally home, sort of! Back in Canada this week we wake up camped between the railroad tracks and the Fraser river on one of the last remaining sections of the originalhsghway 97. A forgotten stretch of road hidden deep in British Columbia's Fraser canyon. In this weeks episode of beyond the back40, my two dogs and I explore the ruins and history left behind along the river before taking a spontaneous detour that quickly becomes the sketchiest drive of my life. After crossing a reaction ferry, we commit to a narrow, crumbling shelf road connecting Lytton to Lillooet-- barely wide enough for the truck and camper, with sheer drop offs, loose dirts, and no room for error. Along the way we're rewarded with unreal mountain views, suffer two flat tires, and experience a close call before finally making it safe to Prince George. this is what true off-grid travel, forgotten highways, and off-the-beaten-path adventure is all about in Beautiful British Columbia!!!!
