Heading Home to the Hebrides Pt1: Folkestone to Glasgow via Peterborough

March 2020. The situation in the UK is changing by the minute and it is hard to keep up with what the latest instruction and protocol is. One thing becomes clear, and that is to cancel everything and head home to hunker down. In this video I take you with me on my journey North with my vintage Sprite Caravan from Black Horse Farm Caravan and Motorhome Club Site to Strathclyde Country Park via Ferry Meadows. From Densole near Folkestone we head up the A260 to Barham where we join the A2 just South of Canterbury, then pick up the M2 at Faversham. Through the Dartford Crossing northbound tunnel, M25 motorway, M11 motorway to Cambridge, then the new A14 as far as the A1(M) then on to Peterborough for the night. Next morning, we carry on up the A1 past Doncaster and York to Scotch Corner, over the A66 to Penrith, then pick up the M6 Northbound as far as the border with Scotland. Here the M6 becomes the M74 which takes us all the way to Strathclyde Country Park, to the South East of Glasgow. Even en route, the situation is changing rapidly and we need to amend our plans on the hoof. PLEASE NOTE THIS JOURNEY HOME WAS UNDERTAKEN BEFORE THE 'LOCKDOWN' ANNOUNCED ON 23RD MARCH. Normally I would make a vlog a little shorter and 'tighter', but as I was editing this (during 'lockdown') I was missing the simple pleasures of towing my caravan along the motorway, and just everyday things like rocking up at a campsite. Therefore I have left this video to be 'slower' and more relaxed and include a little more detail than normal. Come back soon for Part 2.
