1970s Drill Press Restoration In this video, I restore a vintage 1970s Hitachi BE-3600 drill press. This old Japanese machine had been used for decades and was in very poor condition, with rust, dirt, worn parts, and faded labels. The restoration process includes a full disassembly of the machine, rust removal, deep cleaning, repairing damaged components, polishing metal parts, and reassembling everything to bring the drill press back to working condition. A new custom safety guard was also fabricated and installed to replace the missing original protection. This improves safety during operation while still preserving the classic vintage look of the machine.
