As part of my North Wales Road Trip, I spent the bank holiday Monday in Snowdonia National Park hiking Glyder Fach and hiking Glyder Fawr, ascending through Devil's Kitchen. The trail started at the National Trust 's Ogwen Cottage in the Ogwen valley and winds up via Llyn Idwal, a stunning mountain lake. The mountain peaks afford stunning views of rock formations, Snowdon, Y Garn, the impressive cantilever stone and on our descent, the imposing Tryfan. Free layby parking is available, but you have to get there early and you're likely to have better luck if you don't visit on a warm, sunny bank holiday Monday like we did. Throw in the odd spotting's of mountain goats and a waterfall towards the end, this is a truly spectacular hike that I'd recommend to anyone with mountain walking experience. I say with experience as the sight of the trail comes and goes at times so OS map reading skills and a compass would be imperative if hiking on a day when it's not as clear as it was when we visited. 0:00 - Intro 2:08 - Hike begins 3:14 - Llyn Idwal 4:37 - Devil's Kitchen Scramble 8:12 - Horrendous Scree! 10:09 - Glyder Fach 12:46 - Glyder Fawr 13:42 - Cantilever Stone 15:45 - Goats and feeling lost 16:26 - Path Skirting Tryfan 18:34 - Mountain Lakes and Waterfalls
