In this video, a rescue mission was made with V/Line N455 and A66 when the evening down Bairnsdale (8469) had a fault, resulting an early termination at Warragul. A66 used to be in the Mk3 livery of V/Line, or commonly known as the “Cheeseburger” livery. It was introduced ever since 2007 and is now slowly disappearing today with the livery already gone on the VLocities first, along with the N Class locomotives and Sprinters. With the exception of N474 “City of Traralgon”, a little number of Sprinters along with two P Class locos, which are P12 and P15, that of course V/Line still owns as of writing this. I sadly, never got the chance to see A66 in the cheeseburger livery, only once I got the chance when it was at Dudley Street Sidings in May 2021. But anyways, all to say and enjoy the video! 1 DMU(s): VLocity Numbers: 3VL00 Name(s): N/A Owner & Operator: V/Line Passenger Service: 8406 - Southern Cross Seen At: 1:35 Notes: N/A 2 DMU(s): VLocity Numbers: 3VL12 Name(s): N/A Owner & Operator: V/Line Passenger Service: 8401 - Traralgon Seen At: 2:25 Notes: Running a few minutes late… 3 Locomotive(s): N & A Class Numbers: N455 & A66 Name(s): “City of Swan Hill” (N455) Owner & Operator: V/Line Passenger Service: Light Engine as Unspecified Seen At: 3:00 Notes: It has been a long time A66 had been on the Gippsland Line since 2015, it was nice to see it again back on the Gippsland Line. 4 DMU(s): VLocity Numbers: 3VL85 Name(s): N/A Owner & Operator: V/Line Passenger Service: 8420 Seen At: 6:18 Notes: New and Old…except I zoomed in which was annoying. 🙃 5 Locomotive(s): A & N Class Numbers: A66, N455 and N458 Name(s): “City of Swan Hill” and “City of Maryborough” (N458) Owner & Operator: V/Line Passenger With what carriages(?): Power can PH452 and Set N10 Service: 8498 - Empty Cars to South Dynon from Warragul Seen At: 7:00 Notes: N/A 6 Locomotive(s): VL Class Numbers: VL357 & VL351 Name(s): “Empire Rose” (VL357) and “Danehill” (VL351) Owner: Railfirst Asset Management Operator: QUBE Logistics With what wagons / carriages (?): Flatcars with Empty Containers Service: 9473 Seen At: 8:06 Notes: The Maryvale Paper Train on the down usually doesn’t run during the afternoon, it would only run back to the paper mill during evenings or early mornings if a disruption the day earlier were to occur. But this was rare to see, it makes some people remind themselves of the Pacific National days. Yes, Pacific National used to run the paper train ever since it took over Freight Australia in 2004 prior to QUBE’S takeover in 2013. That’s all of the listing on the video!
