The criminal justice system is in a state of perpetual crisis. Significant issues have existed for decades within many parts of the system. Compounding the problem is a cultural challenge: the system is widely considered to be resistant to innovation and reform. Chaired by Rachel Sylvester, political editor of The Observer, and Chair of the Time’s Crime and Justice Commission, this session called on experts to set out bold visions for a criminal justice system of the future.
