KOSOVO: UROSEVAC: NATO ATTACK ALLEGATION

(24 May 1999) Natural Sound Yugoslavia is accusing NATO of attacking a civilian neighbourhood in the town of Urosevac, 40 kilometres south of the Kosovar capital Pristina. Serb officials took APTN to the scene of the alleged NATO strike. The ethnic Albanian inhabitants of the area were sifting through the rubble of their wrecked houses. They said there were a series of explosions at 8pm on Sunday (1800 GMT). NATO said in a statement it hit the headquarters of the special police forces in Urosevac, among other targets on Sunday night. There was no word as to whether any of their strikes had gone astray.
