NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Unreleased 1966 Tower Records recording) Out of Los Angeles, this brilliantly atmospheric track was recorded at Hollywood's Gold Star Studio and demonstrates the rich cavernous echo that the legendary studio became known for. It's a mix of what happens when the style of The Righteous Brothers 'Wall Of Sound' recordings collides with The California surf-sound of The Beach Boys, especially during their 'Pet Sounds' era. Written by the group's drummer and lead singer Rick Henn, the tune never made it past the rehearsal demo acetate stage. The group recorded quite a nice collection of material for the Capitol Records subsidiary, Tower Records and this recording of 'Old Man Doubt' is evidence that The Sunrays were an underrated group which had so much more to offer than 'I Live For The Sun', the hit they are most remembered by.
