Betty's Mystery Snacks

Betty demonstrates how to make Mystery Snacks. These are actually snack crackers, but the mystery is, "What's in them?" Mystery Snacks ½ cup cornmeal 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup butter ½ cup finely-shredded sharp Cheddar cheese ¼ cup milk Combine ½ cup cornmeal, 1 cup all purpose flour, and 1 teaspoon salt. With a pastry blender, cut in 1/3 cup butter and ½ cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Blend until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add ¼ cup milk, stirring lightly, only until dry ingredients are moistened. Knead gently for a few seconds on lightly floured board. Roll out to 1/8" thickness. Cut into strips, triangles, diamonds, or other fancy shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees (F) for about 12 minutes, or until delicately browned. Serve warm or cold. These go wonderfully with the Queso Blanco Dip of the last video.
