Follow me on Instagram:   / cutofflsound   For those who are interested: The Digitakt is playing the transformed Gamelan samples, as well as most of the drums. The Nord Drum is responsible for the tuned percussion element, the white noise ride cymbal and a low Udu Drum type sound. The Nord sounds are getting their effects (EQ, modulation, delay, reverb) from the TC Helicon VoiceLife 2 and go from there to the mixing board as a single stereo mix. The synth pad is provided by the Minilogue with its tape delay depth cranked up to the max. I'm sending portions of the sound from the board through an AUX channel to the Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer which smashes the dynamics before feeding the signal back into a return channel. This acts as a parallel compression to glue the whole mix together and lets it breathe a bit more. The summed mix gets finally recorded by the Marantz CP430 cassette tape machine. As a last step I mastered the recorded track inside the computer to give it some more polish and clarity.
