The ducted 3" fad came and went. With the recent introduction of lighter weight action camera and better props, the thrust advantages of the ducts have been replaced with prop guards, lighter frames, and smaller motors. In this 2 part video series I first go over the analysis and plan for converting a Reptile Cloud 149 guts over to a modern frame. In Part 2 I show the conversion steps and the maiden flight. I only had to buy one of the modern frame kits and use some smaller motors that were better suited to the frame. I salvaged all the electronics including the camera. Give it a try!!
