Sony Videocassette System (Rare early VCR promo film from the 1970s)

Here is a classic demonstration video for this early VTR machine, from Sony's U-Matic era. Conceived around the same time as AVCO's Cartrivision system, Sony's first commercially available videocassette player provided for those with a certain fortune a chance to record anything, anytime in a method that was much more convienent compared to the 1/2" reel to reel machines that dominated the home video market in its early years. Due to its enormous cost (when released, it cost about the same as a small car), it was mostly reserved to commercial use, a trend that continued with the release of the Betamax in 1975.
