In 2022, Fleur’s life is turned completely upside down once again. Just two days after her son Cees celebrates being cancer-free for five years, it turns out that her oldest daughter Anne has bone cancer. Her greatest fear becomes reality. Anne was treated at the Princess Máxima Center. Fleur and Anne spend a lot of time there together. In this video, they take you through the Máxima and share their poignant story. KiKa Korte Broek (“KiKa Shorts”) is an annual campaign by the Children Cancer-Free Foundation (Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij, KiKa), created in 2020 by Pim (then 11 years old) for his then-ill friend Rein. Since then, all of the Netherlands wears shorts in December, even when it’s very cold, to raise awareness and money for all children with cancer. This year, the campaign runs from December 16 to 20.
