This third and last night in Birmingham (in fact, Queen's last show ever in the city) was only added due to high ticket demand and just as the other two nights, it was sold out. Unfortunately, this show marks the quick deteoriation of Freddie's voice, just six shows into the tour. While he still manages to hit some of the nights, he's struggling a lot here, straining and even cracking badly a couple of times. The singer has definitely taken note of his weakening voice as he says before the tackling intro of "It's a Hard Life": "If I don't get this first note, I'll kill myself!" Just like with the previous two nights, the atmosphere tonight is warm and almost familiar with lots of fun stage banter by Brian and Freddie. During "Love of My Life", the crowd doesn't even wait for Freddie to lead them into the song so the singer interrupts the acoustic ballad and jokingly yells into the audience to listen to his command only. He even hands down his mic to them afterwards, something he had already done a few times on the "Jazz Tour". After a few more attempts, the song finally starts off - with Freddie taking command. The Elton John cover remains a part of the show for now but another cover also finds its way into it: For the first time since Nishinomiya almost two years ago, the band play "Jailhouse Rock" during the first encore and would continue doing so for the remainder of the tour. Snippets at this show: 'Dead on Time' (during 'Keep Yourself Alive'), 'Johnny B. Goode' by Chuck Berry (during 'Now I'm Here'), 'Machines (Or 'Back to Humans')' (during Spike's keyboard solo) and 'Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)' by Elton John (before 'Bohemian Rhapsody'). 00:00:00 - 01.
