I Stayed Inside The Largest Village in East Africa, Karamoja Uganda 🇺🇬

Nakapelimoru is the largest village in East Africa according to several travel resources. Together with 2 others we went into the thick of this African village to experience first hand the solid culture and lifestyle of the Jie clan of the Karimojong people. I stayed inside the village for a night and it worth all our time. Their culture is intact and this is in large because of their social structure. Men have their duties which they play and fulfil, same for the women. But the village and culture aren’t without their menaces. Their existence is threatened by modernization. The tribe were predominantly nomadic pastoralists and raiders, but livestock numbers are plummeting, and the effects are hard felt. Pastoralism is the only language they knew, now they have no idea how to restart life differently. This video tells more of the story in Karamoja.
