Another day, another seal nearly lost to a discarded loop of recreational fishing line. It may only weigh a few grams, but it has the power to kill. But this time, it didn’t. The OCN team needed four rescuers to secure the seal and cut through multiple strands of dangerously tight fishing line. Three pinned the powerful animal down, and a fourth carefully removed the entanglement. Every hand was needed. Once freed, he dashed straight into the ocean with surprising energy, reminding us what we’re fighting for: freedom, survival, and second chances. It’s time for recreational fishers to take responsibility for the harm their discarded lines cause. And it’s time for all of us to rethink how we treat our oceans. 🦭 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Please visit our website to find out more about our work and how to support us: ➡ Website: https://www.ocnamibia.org/ ➡ Donate via Paypal: https://ow.ly/BTm550PIavq ➡ Donate via Stripe: https://ow.ly/Xy1F50PIMzQ ➡ Support via Patreon: / ocn ➡ FAQs: https://www.ocnamibia.org/faqs Follow us on social media: ➡ Instagram: / oceanconservationnamibia ➡ Facebook: / ocnamibia ➡ TikTok: / oc_namibia ➡ LinkedIn: / ocnamibia ➡ Twitter: / ocnamibia 😊 Thank you for every like, share, comment and subscribe 😊 Ocean Conservation International is registered as a non-profit organisation under chapter 501(c)3.
