Track 4 from their second album "Trance and Dance" released in 1980 copyright Dindisc Records, a division of Virgin Records. It was again recorded at the famed Manor House Studio in the countryside of Oxfordshire, England and produced by Mike Howlett. Unfortunately, this would be their last album to feature bassist Carl Finkle, who was an integral part of the band and an absolute standout on the instrument. I'd say he deserves the highest accolades, right up there with the best players. The album received above average reviews but didn't create any interest on the charts. Written by Mark Gane and produced by Mike Howlett. Featuring: Martha Johnson - Lead vocals, keyboards & background vocals Mark Gane - Lead vocals, lead & rhythm guitars & synthesizers Martha Ladly - Lead vocals, keyboards, trombone & background vocals Andy Haas - Tenor sax Carl Finkle - Bass Tim Gane - Drums & percussion Got a job in a bank sittin' at a desk Smirkin' at him, all the intellects go by "A little bank boy on the make", they laugh Ha ha-ha-ha, ha, ha, ha Can't they see he'll never be What they wanted him to be Weeknights home alone in a bachelor pad Tryin' to make the station break on TV Strappin' dudes in jockey shorts with six-foot frames Tryin' to sell him cologne at a new, low price Can't they see he'll never be What they wanted him to be He's Teddy the dink Livin' on the brink Money in his pocket He'll buy you a drink He's got his little woman But she cannot see He'll never be what she wanted him to be Oh, Teddy the dink Oh, Teddy the dink Headin' out on Friday night to dance a while Wearin' spiff shoes and a leisure suit Tryin' to get the courage to ask this chick to dance She sees he's on the make and looks the other way Can't she see he'll never be What she wants him to be He's Teddy the dink Livin' on the brink Money in his pocket He'll buy you a drink He's got his little woman But she cannot see He'll never be what she wanted him to be Oh, Teddy the dink Oh, Teddy the dink
