This is my 1 week carry report on the Bestechman Cicada wing. I set this up to be the most budget friendly model of this knife with purple G10 handles, a black finished blade, and black accents. Very cool looking knife with an awesome blade geometry and a keen edge that feels like it should be a better cutter than it is. You can catch my initial video and cutting test on this knife here: • Bestechman Cicada Wing Initial Cut Test Price I paid: $49.90. Specifications Blade Length: 3.15" Cutting Edge: 2.99" Closed Length: 4.06" Overall Length: 7.21" Blade Material: 10Cr15CoMoV Stainless Steel Blade Thickness: 0.091" Blade Hardness: 59-61 HRC Blade Style: Reverse Tanto Blade Grind: Flat Blade Finish: Black Handle Material: Purple G10 Locking Mechanism: B-Lock (Crossbar Lock) Pocket Clip: Deep Carry Stainless Steel (Tip-Up, Right/Left Carry) Weight: 2.12 oz. Made in China So far, this knife has not necessarily been the best cutter. I've had some difficulties cutting through carpet samples, even cheap carpet with a very thin backing. It does pretty well with heavier cardboard, but not so great with lighter paper targets. I've also had to sharpen this knife a LOT. Pretty much every other day, sometimes two or three days in a row if I'm using it more often. It does seem to sharpen pretty easily, but it doesn't seem to hold an edge too well. Not sure if that's a function of the steel itself, the design, or maybe a combination of the two? If you have any insights on that, let me know in the comments. So far, I'm not really sure what to make of this knife. I may get one of the other set ups of this blade down the road, one without the black finish on the blade and a different handle material, to see if I can compare the two and offer some insight there. I've got another 7-10 days to go on the field trial of this knife, so I'll update you guys next week on my final thoughts, but so far I'm not super impressed with this one. Thanks for stopping by guys, and I'll see you on the next one!
