The 17th Naga Unification Day was celebrated with great pride and respect at the Naga Unification Camp in Khehoyi, marking an important milestone in the Naga people's efforts towards unity and reconciliation. The programme began with an invocation by Rev. B. Tochumong, Pastor of the Yimkhiung Baptist Church in Old Showuba Village, followed by the ceremonial unfurling of the Naga National Flag by His Excellency Gen. (Rtd.) MB Neokpao Konyak. This symbolic act reaffirmed the strength and unity of the Naga people in their pursuit of self-determination. Celebrations included a military parade by the Naga Army, demonstrating their commitment to the Naga cause. Cultural performances, such as traditional dances by the Chakhesang Cultural Troupe and the Sumi War Dance, showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Naga tribes. The day also featured a solidarity message from the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), stressing the importance of peace and cooperation among various Naga groups. Alezo Venuh, Hon'ble Ato Kilonser of GPRN/NSCN, and Ritsa Sangtam, Speaker of the Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPG), called for continued dialogue and unity in both political and social matters. Huvito Yepthomi, Hon'ble Kilo Kilonser of GPRN, gave the commemoration speech, explaining the significance of Naga Unification Day as a reminder of the Naga people's ongoing journey towards political autonomy and social unity.
