If you’re spending a weekend in Cape Town, make sure to carve out a few hours for one of the city’s true local treasures: the Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) Market. Nestled at the historic Granger Bay site of the V&A Waterfront, this bustling community farmers' market is held every Saturday and Sunday—and we can confidently say, it’s the best market in Cape Town. What makes the OZCF Market so special? It’s a vibrant celebration of local, sustainable living. Independent farmers and artisanal food producers come together to offer everything from freshly harvested vegetables and organic dairy to crusty loaves of bread, free-range eggs, fragrant honey, homemade muesli, and more. Whether you’re doing your weekly shop or just browsing with a coffee in hand, it’s a feast for the senses. Hungry? You’re in the right place. The market is packed with tempting food stalls offering both cooked and raw dishes, including vegan, vegetarian, and allergy-friendly options (think gluten-, sugar-, wheat-, and dairy-free delights). This market also sells clothing, handicrafts and flowers but we focus on the huge selection of delicious food and South African food specialties available for sale at Oranjezicht City Farm Market. GETTING THERE: On Foot or By Bike: Pedestrian entrances are located right off Beach Road. Cyclists, joggers, and dog walkers are warmly welcomed. Public Transport: Hop on the MyCiTi 104 route, which stops directly across the street from the market and also at the main V&A Waterfront terminal. The T01 line stops nearby on Granger Bay Boulevard. Parking: 350 bays are available next to the market. Rates are set by the V&A Waterfront, starting at R10 for the first hour.
