Day two of my Gloucestershire excursion, as I seek out the homes of Robert Frost and Edward Thomas. I ride through the northern fringes of the Forest of Dean to Kempley, where I discover the most complete set of Romanesque frescos in northern Europe. From Kempley’s remote Norman Church of St Mary, I ride to see the cottages that were once homes briefly to poets Robert Frost, Edward Thomas and the latter's biographer, Eleanor Fargeon. The meeting of American poet Robert Frost and Edward Thomas was to become one of the great literary friendships, and the catalyst for their future achievements and fame. Motorcycle: HondaCB500F
