Which Vegan Cream Cheese is Best for Frosting? - Dolled Up Desserts

What makes the best cream cheese frosting? It's obvious- the cream cheese! For years we have relied on Tofutti brand cream cheese for the BEST vegan cream cheese frosting (which we use on our red velvet cake ,carrot cake, or anything). But, they stopped producing it. Which ruined EVERYTHING! Or so we thought. Today's video we try 3 different non dairy cream cheeses available locally to us, and determine which brand is going to replace our beloved original Tofutti cream cheese spread. To make your own amazing cream cheese frosting, here's what you need (for approx 12 cupcakes or one 2 layer 6" cake): 1/2 cup non-dairy butter (can sub in 2 tbsp shortening for 2 tbsp of the butter for added stability) 1/2 cup non-dairy cream cheese 3.5-4 cups icing sugar, sifted 2 tsp flavouring of choice If you have a favourite vegan cream cheese that we should try, let us know in the comments!
