Maine Audubon’s Nick Lund will lead an online presentation via Microsoft Teams called, The Incredible Saga of the Steller’s Sea Eagle in Maine, hosted by Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, March 10 at 12:00 pm. Maine was graced in 2022 and 2023 with an incredible avian visitor: a Steller’s Sea Eagle, the largest and rarest eagle in the world. Hear the unbelievable story about how this bird arrived in Maine, the chaos it created when it arrived, and where the bird is now. Lund is Maine Audubon’s Network and Outreach Manager. He lives and birds in southern Maine and is the runner of The Birdist blog. Lund is also a writer focusing on birds and science with regular columns in the Portland Phoenix and in the National Audubon Society magazine, and bylines in Slate, the Washington Post, and others. This talk is part of Merryspring’s Online Winter Talk series, generously sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
