ambient performance for modular synthesizer and ciat-lonbarde cocoquantus 2. i played this song at ‪@ModularSanDiego‬, held outdoors on a sunny, windy afternoon in the park. a simple melody is gradually transformed by a series of loops and effects, dissolving into a warm sea of textures. squarp hermod sequences a mutable instruments rings melody, which is then looped by cocoquantus. each 8-bit lo-fi coco looper is in mono, at different loop lengths, left fed into right; a crunchy decaying looping delay. the audio runs from CQ2 into the modular through a low-pass filter, then strymon magneto and mutable instruments beads; both are in decaying looping delay modes. the modular mixing section includes a pair of happy nerding fxaids running ping-ping delay and blackhole reverb algorithms, at a gradually reduced samplerate by lowpass-filtered noise from steady state fate quantum rainbow 2. within the cocoquantus, self-patched quantussy modulation, attenuated via the format jumbler, blends with random external CV from pam's new workout; intermittently shifting and fluttering the looping audio. the gentle melody blooms into swirling stereo pads, a bitcrushed wash of soft grit and windswept textures. recorded june 26, 2022. video kindly provided by @JohnoWells. #modular #ambient #cocoquantus
