In this segment, we solve an example problem illustrating how to find the internal energy change of an ideal gas (CO2). We go over three methods and compare the errors in each option. These three methods are using ideal gas properties of CO2 - Table A20 and Table A-20E in Cengel and Ideal gas specific heats of CO2 at room temperature (80F) and exact temperatures -Table A2 and Table A-2E in Cengel.
