In this episode, we sail along the dramatic Italian coastline, passing some of the most unique islands in the Mediterranean. We explore Vulcano Island, a place where nature is impossible to ignore. The smell of sulfur hangs in the air, warning signs line the paths, and the volcano determines when it’s safe to climb. Life here exists right next to danger — a powerful reminder of how closely humans and nature coexist. Not far from Vulcano lies Panarea, a completely different world.Small, elegant, and surprisingly vibrant. Often described as Ibiza-like, Panarea feels light, stylish, and alive. Even arriving with a pounding migraine, the atmosphere and beauty of the island slowly worked their magic. It’s easy to understand why many wealthy Italians choose this island as their retreat. We also return to Stromboli, our all-time favourite. An island where the volcano erupts every few minutes, yet daily life simply goes on. Narrow streets, tiny vehicles, and a close-knit community living beneath one of the most active volcanoes on Earth. Between these islands, life on board continues. We live full-time on our sailing boat, powered by the sun through our solar system, giving us the freedom to live off-grid without constantly thinking about electricity. And of course, there’s Ollie — our four-legged crew member. He’s been living on the boat since he was a puppy and doesn’t know any other life. Most days, he seems to love it. He enjoys swimming, staying close to us, and being part of everything we do. But boat life isn’t always easy for a dog. There are moments when he can’t run freely, and rough seas are clearly not his favourite. Still, he’s family — and the kids absolutely adore him. After a short stop in Naples, we continue north toward Pisa to welcome new guests on board.Following a long passage, we arrive in Ponza, a small and beautiful island where we enjoy a truly special meal in a very special place. This episode isn’t just about sailing from A to B.It’s about choosing a different way of life.About family, freedom, and discovering the world together — on our own terms.
