Long-distance Mediterranean sailing with our Lagoon 450 catamaran — from Spain back to Croatia. Family sailing with two kids and a dog on board, crossing Menorca, Sicily, and the Tyrrhenian Sea. And yes… we’re doing it after discovering a leak in the boat. 🙈 From Spain back to Croatia — more than 1,000 miles in the “wrong” direction. Are we crazy? Maybe. But here’s why we’re doing it anyway: Our Lagoon 450, Luna, needs a proper repair after the leak in Naples. And Kay is deep into building his yacht automation app — and Croatia is where he needs to be for that project. So we decided to go ALL IN: sell our home in the Netherlands, say emotional goodbyes, and start a brand-new chapter at sea. Kay flew ahead to prepare Luna, while I packed up the house and flew to Spain with our dog Ollie. Flying a dog in the cargo hold is never fun, but with tracking, planning, and a bit of stress, we made it as smooth as possible for him. Once reunited, the big reveal: ✨ We’re sailing all the way back to Croatia — the place where our journey began. And to make the passage even better, Dick and Wim are joining us from Spain to Sicily.
