Canada Nigeria Business Investment Summit - 2nd Edition

The Second edition of the Canada-Nigeria Business Investment Summit, in October at the Marriott Hotel Toronto, brought together members of the business communities in Canada and Nigeria and the diplomatic community for engaging conversations. They deliberated on the business opportunities in Nigeria, the incentives and enabling environment created by the Federal Government for foreign and local investors. The High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Adeyinka Asekun, is always ready to inform the world about the opportunities for investors in Nigeria, especially in the non-oil export sector. He gave a detailed account of the current level of Trade between Nigeria and Canada, which some business analysts describe as excellent. However, the High Commissioner says the volume of Trade can go higher given the business climate and opportunities at various levels of government. Canada's High Commissioner to Nigeria, James Christoff, emphasized the crucial leadership of Nigeria in the Sub-Region and on the African continent. He also spoke about the collaborative efforts of Canada and Nigeria to create a firm enabling environment for Trade. The Minister of Trade, Investment and Consular at the Nigeria High Commission, Mr Obioma Nzewuji, in his presentation titled: Investment into Nigeria-Key Sectors and Opportunities for Canadians focused on the inclusive business agenda of Nigeria to strengthen the ease of doing business in the country, especial for Canadian investors.
