Welcome to the holiday season! Today we finally finish up A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I think it's probably the most well known Christmas story of all time, and has had so many adaptations! Miserly and miserable old Scrooge hates Christmas, and looks down his nose at anyone who doesn't. His greed and grumpiness has everyone except his well meaning nephew, and his clerk who has no choice, do their best to avoid him. One Christmas eve, he is visited by the Ghost of his old business partner, Marley, who warns him of what is awaiting him in the afterlife if he doesn't change his ways. He says Scrooge will be visited by 3 spirits over the coming nights and then disappears. One by One, the spirits show Scrooge the past, the present, and the future in hopes to give him a change of heart. After his harrowing experience Scrooge indeed does have a change of heart, and is pleased to wake up in the morning to find he is not too late for Christmas, or for finally becoming gracious and philanthropic.
