Welcome to the holiday season! Today we start the Christmas festivities by reading The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams. When I was a kid, my parents subscribed to this mail order movie company called Feature Films for Families, and one of the Movies that came was based on this book. I loved it SO much, and I hope you do too. One Christmas morning a young boy receives a stuffed rabbit. At first the Rabbit is overlooked because he isn't as flashy or exciting as the new mechanical wind up toys. But as time goes on, the boy grows to love his little stuffed rabbit more than anything else. When the boy catches scarlet fever the poor rabbit must be destroyed so as to not continue to harbor and spread germs, but because the boy had loved him SO much, the tiny rabbit is able to become real, and decides to always watch over the little boy from his garden. So sit back, grab your favorite drink, and cuddle buddy and enjoy. And remember: always be curiouser.
