Dive 9 of the trip — and the second dive of Day 4 — takes us to Aquarium after beginning the day at Marty’s Wall and the Wreck of Doc Paulson (Dive 8). Where our first dive of the day focused on depth and structure, Aquarium shifts the tone toward flow, wildlife, and movement in a beautifully layered underwater sequence. We open with a turtle tease before even entering the water. Aerial drone footage captures the boat from above before we drop in — first Robbie, then Liz and her dad — panning from the surface entry down to the divers below. As the opening credits roll, Robbie flips weightlessly beneath the surface, setting the tone for the dive. From there, Aquarium slowly unfolds. A queen angelfish approaches my dad before retreating into coral. We follow a pufferfish along the reef, then spot our family favorite — the Spanish hogfish that seems to appear in nearly every dive of the trip. Then comes the heart of Act One: a playful sea turtle encounter set to “The Hallows” by Dan Tremblay. We move alongside it as the music builds, then let the moment taper naturally into ambient water sounds as the turtle slowly leaves the frame — a quiet transition into the second act. Act Two begins with “Gaze” by Dan Tremblay as we lock onto a smooth stingray tracking sequence. It’s one of the most fluid follow shots of the trip — calm, controlled, and cinematic. As we return to the reef, Aquarium offers smaller, intimate details: • A second queen angelfish lingering in open water • A vibrant French angelfish drifting across coral • Close-up shrimp tucked inside the reef • A brief appearance from a midnight parrotfish before it disappears into coral The dive resolves by slowly ascending and looking upward toward divers boarding the boat — a human return after the wildlife journey — before closing with a final drone sequence captured by fellow diver Devon Gerber. Dive 8 delivered depth and wreck exploration. Dive 9 delivers flow and wildlife — together forming a complete Day 4 experience in our Cayman 2025 journey. 🎥 Dive details • Location: Aquarium • Dive: #9 (Cayman 2025 | Day 4 – Dive 2) • Second dive of the day following Marty’s Wall + Doc Paulson Wreck • Two-act structure: Turtle encounter + Stingray follow • Marine life highlights: Sea turtle, stingray, pufferfish, Spanish hogfish, queen angelfish, French angelfish • Drone footage by Devon Gerber • Filmed entirely on GoPro This video is part of our Cayman 2025 dive series.
