Welcome back to another heartwarming episode of Rural Cuisine! Today is a very special day in the village as we gather the women of the family to cook a massive pot of traditional Iranian Noodle Soup, known as "Ash Reshteh". I am Leila, and in this video, I am joined by my lovely mother, Ajav, along with our dear family members, Mahin and Soghra. Cooking Ash Reshteh in large quantities is a beautiful tradition in our culture, especially when it is meant to be shared with neighbors and the local community. Making this rich, herb-filled soup requires a lot of teamwork. From chopping the mountains of fresh herbs to stirring the giant pot over the fire, everyone has a role. We used traditional ingredients: beans, chickpeas, lentils, fresh greens, and Persian noodles (Reshteh). The best part of this day was dividing the hot, delicious soup into bowls and distributing it among our neighbors. Sharing food brings so much joy and peace to our village life.
