The Brooks Hyperion Elite 1 was a disappointment, failing to come close to the standards set by shoes like the Nike Vaporfly, and in a year full of terrific new carbon plate racers from rival brands Brooks needed something special from the Hyperion Elite 2 to show they could compete with the best available. Fortunately, the Hyperion Elite 2 is a pretty special shoe, and a vast improvement on its predecessor.
