When people talk about the full run of Futurama, they tend to divide it into 2 categories: The original fox seasons, and the Comedy Central revival seasons. Which is actually a fair assessment, technically production seasons 1 through 4 aired on Fox while 5 through 7 aired on Comedy Central. However, season 5 is sort of an outlier, because while it did eventually air on Comedy Central, initially it went straight to DVD in the form of 4 Movies. This is why personally, I see Futurama as existing in 3 different eras, because these straight to DVD movies absolutely feel like their own thing and wedge themselves firmly in between the two broadcast runs of the show, bridging that gap.
