In this video, I will show you how to create Models in Blender then export them into the OBJ (Wavefront) format and then use my OBJ Tool to convert them in to shorts and unsigned shorts. This allows them to be easily compacted into arrays. I explain the OBJ format's key parts that we need and go over some tips on creating low poly models in blender. I then show where you can look at some models, which were used in N64 games, so you can get an idea of the amount of polygons, you should limit yourself to, in your own games. Next I present the code, for loading the LibNDS model data, which my OBJTool converts OBJs into and from there we create a little level scene with some simple animation, using rotations. I also show how I create simple 3D scenes, using images. Links to code and assets below https://sourceforge.net/projects/retr... Link to OBJ Tool from the Nintendo DS tutorial on the tool **Note that you only need either the exe for windows or source code for the tool not the NDS code or assets https://sourceforge.net/projects/retr... In the next video I will look to create a game, let me know which of the following options you would like ShyGuy Invaders ShyGuy BreakOut or Plant Blitz These will be 3D games and use everything I have covered so far.
