This trail was straight out of a dream—fog rolling through the trees, rain tapping on the leaves, and that classic PNW gloom that just makes everything feel more alive. I’ve always loved hiking in weather like this—it’s peaceful, quiet, and raw. We set up camp after a wet, but beautiful hike. Right before crashing for the night, we checked our Garmin for a weather update—no precipitation in the forecast. But the mountains had other plans. It ended up snowing on us all night. Thankfully, we were overpacked and overprepared: sub-freezing sleeping bags, high R-value sleeping pads, new rain flys, and enough common sense to stop climbing once things got sketchy. This trip was a solid reminder—when you’re backpacking in the PNW, don’t just trust the forecast. Prepare like it will turn on you. It was a blast making this video and sharing the experience. I want to keep creating more for YouTube and would seriously appreciate any feedback—whether it’s on the filming, editing, or storytelling. Also, drop a comment with your favorite backpacking spots or where you think I should camp next!
