Yes, a new recording of the band CRAWDAD has come out.....Well, part of it anyways. According to the man who posted the link to download this recording, it is only Part #1 of a 3-part recording (each part being these big audio files) that was labeled "Live #1", and who knows if/when he'll post Parts 2 and/or 3 in the future. The man who posted the download link said that he got this recording from a friend of Steve Gaines's, saying that it had Steve on it, but the poster himself had never heard it all the way through, and didn't know what the band's name was. So I listened all the way through, and found that it was indeed CRAWDAD, but the date & place of this performance is unknown. I took it upon myself to restore the quality, and seperate the tracks so that they were no longer on this one big audio file. Here's the link to download my results: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ai2... CRAWDAD was: Steve Gaines - Vox/Guitar/Slide Cassie Gaines - Vox^ John Moss - Vox/Guitar John Seaberg - Bass Terry Emery - Keys Ronnie Brooks - Vox (MAYBE)"/Drums ^= On Tracks #6-8 only "= On Track #2 only The tracks are: 01. Person To Person (Average White Band Cover) 02. Mr. Union Man (Cate Bros. Cover)* 03. 1 In The Sun 04. You Know What I Mean (Jeff Bek Cover) 05. Blackjack Davey 06. It's Alright 07. Give It To Get It 08. For The Love of You (Isley Bros. Cover) The rest of the file was just 75 minutes of silence (because that's when the reel-to-reel stopped playing when being converted to a cassette tape), which I cut out almost immediately. = The only track that has someone other than Steve Gaines on the lead vocals. It doesn't sound like John Moss either. I'm thinking that perhaps it's Ronnie Brooks's voice? UPDATE: After much deep researching, I have discovered that this is actually part of a recording of Steve's FINAL gig with Crawdad before leaving to join Lynyrd Skynyrd! It was a Saturday in late June 1976 (Steve recorded "1 More From The Road" with Skynyrd from July 7th, 8th, and 9th of 1976, and Steve was rehearsing with Allen in Leon's living room weeks before that, as heard on "Teaching An Okie To Fly"), and was at a bar & club place in Galena, Kansas that was known simply as "The Ranch". Now I KNOW I want to hear Parts #2 & 3 of "Live 1" as soon as possible!
