Best Patrouille Suisse airshow ever: Axalp-like jet display around Top of Europe - Lauberhorn 2025

I've seen quite a lot of Patrouille Suisse displays, including their show above the famous Axalp shooting range in Switzerland. The Swiss Air Force jet display team, flying F-5E Tiger II supersonic light fighter aircraft, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2024. For me, the demonstration at the international Lauberhorn ski races in January 2025 was perhaps the most impressive I have ever seen. There are teams with more jets, more spectacular figures and more smoke and spectacle. But where else in the world does a jet team fly so precisely against the backdrop of 4000 metre high snow-covered mountains and then plunge along the rocks deep into the valley? This jet display not only has a straight demonstration axis, but also a demonstration line along the ski run route. In my opinion, this is the reason why this unique display doesn't have to hide from the Red Arrows, Patrouille de France, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels etc. In earlier years there were even joint overflights with airliners from Swiss International Air Lines (Airbus A320 / A321 / Bombardier CS300 / Airbus A220). The pilots of the Patrouille Suisse come from one of the F/A-18 Hornet frontline squadrons. Their role as display pilots is performed alongside their primary duties. Special thanks to Michael "Püpi" Duft und Claudius "Mac" Meier - Lauberhorn 2025 was their last Patrouille Suisse display. Clips and photos were taken during two dislays on 17 and 18 January 2025.
