Photographer Stan Godwin oral history interview, September 19, 2024. Stan tells about his childhood life in one of the oldest houses in Brewster on Stony Brook Road from the 1960s to 1970s. He describes his younger years working at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History during its startup years in a tent pavilion to the museum it is today, working under John Hay and Marshall T. Case assisting with the collecting and constructing exhibits. Stan recalls the “intelligentsia” group in his Brewster, MA neighborhood as children they were exposed to. There were famous names including Conrad Aiken, John Hay, Thomas Bouchard, Eugene Fitsch, Howard Gibbs, Betty lane and many more. His own family ran a well-known antiques shop called the Packet in a barn on the old Sears property.
