Footage taken what seems like ages ago, only two weeks! .... A couple of junctions north of the tunnel off the recently opened Harvil Road, have been created, one of which i believe is for future access to the line for railway staff. At the beginning of the footage, earthworks for flood plain Newyear's Green bourne and balancing pond have changed the landscape here, and as the drone approaches the top of summit, what looks like the footprint of a future new public right of way connecting Harvil Road to Breakspear Road South along the northern edges of the tunnel. Will the area green over this year? Copthall tunnel works are due for completion this year, the visible ends of the 5 vent shafts will be covered with a weathered steel finish. The tunnel portal headhouse roof has been fitted with some kind of permanent roofing material and noise barrier construction continues to take place. The final resting place of 'Dominique' launching girder (the colne valley south embankment) the ground there has now been strengthened. The Colne Valley Viaduct, one can clearly see it's curvature, more pronounced on camera. High speed trains are due to traverse this area in the early 2030's on UK's new high speed line, between London, Birmingham and the north. Thanks for watching.
