18th November 2025. Ping Shan Heritage trail in Tin Shui Wei was a historic journey into 12th Century clan life. The trail takes you through the streets and alleys of an authentic local neighbourhood and I found myself in some fairly unsalubrious surroundings. This was a fascinating insight into how, away from the glitz of some of Hong Kong’s smart high rises, locals live. This exploration was followed by a climb to the Monastery of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Sha Tin. I looked forward to a steep and rigorous climb but sadly repairs stopped us from advancing after half way!
