I am Der Geher and I walk through Poppenbüttel. From the Alstertal shopping center I pass the train station and walk through a residential area at Grotenbleken. A park at the river Alster and then the castle Henneberg. After the market church it goes over the Poppenbüttler Weg into the Schulbergredder. The end is a footpath from Ulzburger Straße. Poppenbüttel, the estate of Poppo, was first mentioned in a sales contract in 1336, but was probably founded much earlier. In 1529 the Poppenbüttel lock was put into operation and its importance increased. From 1750 the farmers increasingly gave way to commercialization with copper mills, silver smelting and minting. The influence of Hamburg grew and in 1937 Poppenbüttel was incorporated.
