It was a remembrance of the time and dedication that Bonnie Schulze spent in Judson ISD. She left behind so many friends and such an impact on students and staff that it was fitting that there would be some way for all of us to remember her. Bonnie Schulze gave decades of service to this district. First at Live Oak Elementary (later Ed Franz), Kitty Hawk Middle School and later at Judson High School. She tragically passed away recently of cancer. During those years in the district she served as a nurse, but not just a nurse, but someone who students, staff and even parents could talk to about almost anything. She started the first ever Project Graduation that offered a safe and fun alternative event for graduates to celebrate their accomplishment. She was a woman of faith that took her faith and raised her level of service to others to a much higher level than most people see. That's what made her stand out...that's what makes people of impact. She was honored by JISD and Judson High School by having the school library named after her. The ceremony included remarks by former Judson High School Principal Eddie Parsley, son Greg Patulea and daughter Debbie Dickey. Also present was daughter Cindy Patulea who formerly worked at Judson High School as well. The ceremonial ribbon was cut by Schulze/Patulea/Dickey family members, JISD Board Member Sonny Merrell and Superintendent Dr. Willis Mackey. Leading up to the ribbon cutting, Judson High School Choir members sang the school alma mater in the rotunda common area. The Judson High School Orchestra performed several classical pieces before ceremonies and the school's JROTC provided the color guard for the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags. Thank you everyone for your contribution and attendance to this wonderful tribute and dedication.
