Join me every Friday at Noon for a brief Internal Family Systems lesson and 15-minute centering meditation led by IFS practitioner and master therapist Keith Miller, to learn how to make sense of your inner life and benefit from mindfulness-based stress reduction practice. 10-minute introduction and Short Overview of one IFS concept 15-minute guided “Orchestra Conductor” meditation 5-minute Q&A about healing through “parts work” After event, continue chat and Q&A with Keith for 30 min on FB Unlike typical meditation instruction which helpfully pivots around triggering the body’s relaxation response by learning to detach, surrender, and let go of conscious mental activity, this IFS-informed meditation will teach you how to become an orchestra conductor of your mental and physical activity. You will learn how to respond to each part of your psyche uniquely, unlocking your brain’s potential to be highly curious, courageous, and creative while feeling calmer, clearer and more compassionate. This is for you if you: • Find yourself stuck in anxious or negative thoughts and want to feel more calm • Feel hijacked by emotional triggers in your life or in the news and just want to be yourself more • Have considered or tried meditation but don’t think it really works for you • Already benefit from a “sitting” mindfulness practice but want to resolve inner emotional conflicts and understand complex behavioral patterns • Want a spiritual practice in your life but are skeptical of religious teaching or spiritualizing • Have a strong religious faith but want to put this faith into meaningful practice to overcome constraining behaviors or thoughts About the Venue: Social Media This weekly free event will be simul-streamed live every Friday at 12:00pm EST on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn. It is not considered psychotherapy or counseling and there is no expectation of confidentiality of participants. There’s no need for participants to engage in the chat on social media during the presentation but you’re encouraged to ask questions and share your experience to bring the learning to life. About Your Presenter Keith Miller has practiced psychotherapy for twenty years as a clinical social worker and has specialized in mindfulness-based IFS therapy for 13 years (trained in L1, L2, L3, and IFIO). He’s an expert on relationships and healing from emotional trauma and is the author of Love Under Repair: How to Save Your Marriage and Survive Couples Therapy and Mindful Marriage, a mindfulness-based stress reduction curriculum for couples.
